ABOUT 211 BESPOKE

WHY 211?

211 holds a great significance within my Family history. My great-great grandfather, Frank Finley Clarkson of Northallerton, owned 211 High Street as his own silversmiths shop. Frank was the only self employed craftsman who made parts of the miniature silver for Queen Mary's Dolls House, working in 1/12 scale. His smith career see's work across the country, with pieces made for York Minster in the KOYLI Chapel, Durham Cathedral's Alter cross, and even the Northallerton Mayoral chain.

WHERE IS 211 BESPOKE?

211 Bespoke is a small independent Millinery business, which is run by a solo maker, me. I work in a small studio built by myself and my Father, and I store each piece created within my studio. I am situated in the North Yorkshire region of the UK, which is host to a wonderous countryside, and many unique landmarks such as York and Whitby.

HOW ARE THE HATS MADE?

I hand make each hat, a process which focuses on the start, to the finish, and any process in-between. Each hat is hand wired, bound, and finished in an array of embellishments. Embellishments are either made by hand, or are sourced from vintage stocks. Vintage stocks add a touch of old world glamour, but also encourages re-cycling.
